What is Main pot in poker?

The primary pot during a hand. The main pot can be contrasted against any side pots, which can occur in multiway pots when one player goes all-in but at least one other player has more chips, and thus a side pot can be necessary to ensure that the shorter stack player is only eligible to win the amount matching their stack at the start of the hand.
